Ski area Mürren-Schilthorn

The "Jungfrau" lift pass includes the areas of Grindelwald/First, Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen and Mürren/Schilthorn with a total of 206 kilometres of pistes. To make use of it, you only need to show a valid Jungfrau Region hiking or sledging pass, resp. the "Jungfrau" lift pass and a completed and valid guest card. The three ski areas offer slopes to suit various tastes (for details, see ski region).

With the Mürren-Schilthorn lift pass, ride along over 50 km of piste in the highest-lying ski area of the Bernese Oberland. The ski area of Schilthorn as plenty of diverse skiing fun to offer, among which includes the Skimovie run on piste number 24, and the extremely steep run number 10 with an angle of 75%. The longest run begins on the lower-half of the Schilthorn peak, leading you along the popular Inferno races run and ends after about 14 km in Lauterbrunnen at 795 m altitude.

Furthermore, you'll find three special attractions on the Schilthorn: Chill, Thrill and View. A world-famous highlight awaits you at the Schilthorn peak at 2,970 m altitude - the "View." Here, you'll find the Piz Gloria, the world's first rotating restaurant at just under 3,000 m altitude. The restaurant doesn't just offer a great 360° view of over 200 peaks, but is also a very special place all its own: scenes from the James Bond film "On Your Majesty's Secret Service" (1969) were filmed here. An interactive exhibit, "Bond World 007," can also be viewed here. You can test your aviation skills in the helicopter simulator or view selected scenes from the movie in the house-owned cinema.

On the lower-half of the peak, the "Thrill" awaits you in the form of a new Skyline Walk, a panoramic platform made of steel and glass at the Bistro Birg, of which is only recommended for those who don't get dizzy.

At the Allmendhubel, the main mountain of Mürren, lies the family-friendly part of the ski area and with it, the "Chill," where next to the children's area, a large amount of blue pistes for beginners and leisure skiers await. A funicular takes you up from Mürren in a panoramic lift to the Allmendhubel, where you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the northern side of the Bernese Alps.

Après ski Mürren

The brilliant view of the Bernese Alps alone is worth the trip to Mürren, but much more awaits you besides the panoramic views and skiing fun the little resort has to offer. The large open-air artifical ice rink in the village is a popular meeting point for guests and residents. Here, ice skaters, hockey player and curling enthusiasts will feel right at home. Once in a while, the ice rink is even turned into a disco in the evenings. Tobogganing also has a strong presence in and around Mürren. Even a main street in the upper part of the village is a favourite tobogganing run when enough snow is to be found. Furthermore, three longer tobogganing runs can be found in the Schilthorn ski area: one runs from Allmendhubel to Mürren, another along the Winteregg piste to Lauterbrunnen, and another long route takes you from the Schiltgrat station over Schiltalp and Gimmeln and finally back down into Mürren.

For indoor sports and spa programmes, head over to the Alpine Sports Centre in Mürren with the whole family, where an extensive infrastructure awaits you with a fitness room, swimming pool and children's paradise. A unique speciality of Mürren is the mini museum. Traditional themes and customs of Mürren have been gathered together and are set up in seven display windows in the resort.

If you'd like to take in the quiet, snow-white natural surroundings, several prepared winter hiking trails are ready to be explored between Mürren, Grütschalp and Gimmelwald. Those of you looking for a tougher trail are recommended to take on a snowshoe hike through deep snow. A more diverse trail runs over the Mitterlberg and a panoramic path in approx. 1.5 hours walking time.

Nightlife is no stranger to Mürren; Hotspots here make sure to keep the atmosphere alive long after the lifts have shut down for the night. Popular locales include the Bliemlichäller in the Hotel Blumental and the Tächi Bar in the Hotel Eiger. Both places provide a DJ, helping night owls transform into early birds.

Snowpark: Skyline Snowpark Schilthorn Mürren

The Skyline Snowpark at the Gimmeln ski lift offers, parallel to the pistes, two lines: one for beginners with kickers and boxes between 3 and 6 metres, and a medium line with jumps, jibs and several rails. The best part about the park is that it functions exclusively with natural snow. This is also why the advanced line is only open when enough snow is available.

In total, 12 kickers, rails and boxes provide for spectacular jumps and adrenaline rushes for all levels. Keeping with the James Bond theme at the Schilthorn, the snow park also has a section set up in 007 Bond style. The obstacles here are laid out in the well-known secret agent's style. The park also impresses internationally, what with the QParks tours stopping by to check out the area.
