Ski area Elm im Sernftal

The ski area, located at the foot of the Kärpf mountain, comprises of over 40 km of piste for both sporting and leisure winter sports fans alike. The Sportbahn lift in Elm takes you up to a height of 2,105 m, where leisure skiers will be presented with a majority of red and blue pistes. From the mountain crest of Mürliböden, two black pistes await, heading back down the mountain with one opening up into a blue valley run. As a modern ski area, Elm offers free Wi-Fi in each of the following locations: the Munggä Hüttä hut, the Älpli hut and the Ämpächli mountain restaurant. Parents can take a break in the mountain restaurant while the kids head next door to the children's arena, where it's up the conveyor belt and back down again through arches and around flags. After unstrapping those skis, a 200 m long snowtubing run awaits big and little skiers alike in the valley.

Furthermore, the nearby ski area of Engi offers Elm skiers an easily navigable 1 km long piste, which can be used with the same lift pass and is illuminated in the evenings.

Après ski Elm

The huts in the Elm ski area provide the perfect combination of romance and winter charm. What's more tempting are the classic Swiss cheese specialities, raclette and fondue. In the Älpli hut, for example, candlelight raclette or fondue is served every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. In the Munggä hute, dinner can be organised for large groups, and up at the Ämpächli, the glassed-in umbrella bar "Karussell" provides the perfect locale for an après ski party. Tobogganing, or "Schlitteln" as the Swiss say, can be enjoyed on two grandiose tracks, one of which beginning in the middle of the Elm ski area. On the 4 km long track, evening use is available every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday until 9:30 p.m. On the 3 km long track in the neighbouring village of Matt-Weissenberge, the tobogganing fun continues on Fridays and Saturdays until 10:00 p.m. Those who wish to participate in all the action can reserve a package for the gondola ride up, the hut evening with cheese specialities and tobogganing fun.

For nature-lovers still looking for an après ski opportunity, a mountain tour of the Martinsloch is worth doing. This triangular shaped slate window is composed of slate from the region and is well-known among residents and tourists alike, offering a first-class sunset experience like no other.

Snowpark: Snowpark Elm

The snow park Elm provies a super fun park up on the Bischofalp at an altitude of 1,800 m. Known as the best park in the region, it's well-visited but still large enough to provide enough space for all winter sports fans. With five diverse rails, a curved S-box, two kickers and a special bonk area with stakes and oil drums, jump-hungry guests will be in real paradise.

Further down on the run to the Bischofs lift, a beginner park can be found with a few moguls and little kickers to practice on before heading up to the larger park. An absolute highlight for fans is the new BigAirBag: a massive air cushion that provides a smooth landing after a high jump. In Elm, freestyle fans will definitely be getting their money's worth!
