Ski holidays Les Orres – sunny ski paradise for families!

Les Orres

The small resort Les Orres is located in the National Park Les Ecrins and is covered with larch forests and provides great snow conditions in winter. If you decide to stay here you can enjoy a beautiful panorama view of the Hautes-Alpes and the magnificent Serre-Ponçon lake. The resort is divided into two parts, named after the altitude location: Les Orres 1650 and Les Orres 1800. The lower part is the main resort with the "Station Central" and many hotel and apartment complexes. Further up you'll find the more cosy "Bois Méan" part, with larger chalet buildings with wooden-clad facades, which offer a more mountain-village atmosphere but with modern flair. Two resorts in one - that creates a very special charm and also means there is a good offer of diverse activities available.

To make the full range of offers accessible, free ski buses run between the resorts. Especially for families the leisure time offers are diverse and numerous. Young parents can benefit from allround child care service for the smallest ones from 6 months to 5 years. Further there are hikes, tobogganing and ice skating on offer - to name only a few!

National Park Les Ecrins

The national park "Les Ecrins" lies in the south-east of France and comprises the Pelvoux massif which also stretches over a part of the Dauphiné Alps. The park extends over a 1,786 square kilometres. The central part of the park comprises 918 square kilometres and falls under special protection. The park is bearer of the "European Diploma for protected areas" and offers a unique habitat for many species of flora and fauna. Hikers and skiers alike will find the highest summit within the diverse landscape of the National Park highly attractive: the Barre des Ecrins (4,102 m), which is also the most southern 4,000 metre peak of the Alps in general.
