Ski area Zahmer Kaiser

Ski area Zahmer Kaiser

The ski area "Zahmer Kaiser" (660 - 1,200 m) is the local ski area for Walchsee and offers 13 km of piste and 10 lifts. Especially families value this area of the Kaiser mountains with the softly flowing, wide pistes. The majority of the piste are blue, black runs are not existent here. Little snow enthusiasts will be perfectly cared for in the local ski schools with kid's area including an Indian tepee, snow tunnel and wave piste.

With the lift pass "Alpen Plus" you have additional access to six further ski areas (see ski region) - for example the ski area Spitzingsee-Tegernsee with the popular MINI Snowpark.

Night skiing Walchsee

Austria without skiing is unimaginable, just like many cannot imagine a skiing vacation without nightly skiing on floodlit pistes. After all, skiing by night has its very own charm - many enjoy the silence, the twinkling lights in the valley and the stars in the sky. At Zahmer Kaiser in Tyrolean Kaiserwinkl, guests of the ski area at Walchsee can go night skiing. Depending on the snow conditions and the sason, the Amberglift extends its operation times one or two times per week. The approx. 1 km piste with snow-making system offers an idyllic slope with an impressive mountain backdrop. If that's not enough for you, you will find another floodlit piste in St. Johann, approx. 30 km away. The night skiing piste there is accessible by a chairlift.

Après ski Walchsee

Apres ski in Walchsee and Kössen will definitely give you your money's worth. In the "Londoner" and in the "Enjoy" in Kössen or the "Kaminstube" in Walchsee you will experience everything that is a part of apres ski - for decent prices! You should also try the regional cuisine, such as "Kaiserschmarrn" or grilled goat ribs.

Once per week the Zahmer Kaiser offers evening fun on the pistes. Tobogganers can speed down three different runs in Walchsee - if you feel like it you can try the 3 km long run in the ski area Wilder Kaiser. Snowbike workshops offer great fun in Schwendt. Approx. 80 km of winter hiking trails invite you to explore the region of Kaiserwinkl. Or grab a pair of snowshoes and get going. On the ice rink in Kössener Dorfplatz you can spend your time curling or practising your twirls. An ice rink can also be found in Walchsee, opened daily in the winter season.

Snowpark: MINI Snowpark Spitzingsee Walchsee

In the ski area Walchsee there is unfortunately no fun park available. However freestylers can find snow parks in two other "Alpen Plus" ski areas. The larger one is the "MINI Snowpark" at Spitzingsee, which is known as one of the top 3 snow parks in Germany. Every year the park is reshaped and the offer is increased. Helmets and protector can be rented free of charge by the riders. Obstacles include (depending on the snow conditions) 6 to 8 kickers (4 - 20 m tables), 5 rails, 3 boxes, as well as jib barrels.

A further fun park can be found in the ski area Sudelfeld. It is slightly smaller and offers a kicker, a easy line and a jib line.
