Ski area Dachstein West

The "Dachstein-West" ski region gives you access to 131 km of diverse pistes. Numerous ski areas in the Dachstein region and in Salzkammergut, such as Dachstein West, Abtenau, Feuerkogel and the Freesports Arena Krippenstein can be used. Beginners, intermediates and not forgetting pros will all find the appropriate descent. However wide, easy to intermediate level pistes amid dense winter forests are typical to this region. The free ski buses ensure an easy transfer between the different resorts in the Dachstein West region, letting you to get to all the highlights without any problems. One such highlight is of course the difficult "Alexandra-Meissnitzer" descent in Abtenau. A very popular destination for snowboarders is the funpark with jumps, rails and tables at the Hornspitz mountain station. Freestylers really get their moneys worth here!

The 8-person mountain railway Donnerkogelbahn and the 8-person Panorama Jet Gosau cater for even more comfort and faster access. Additionally, a new kid's club is available in the ski area, offering part time or all-day child care service for children from the age of 1.

The panorama ski circuit "Panoronda" with a total of 44 km of piste is a diverse experience on perfectly prepared and signposted pistes. Cosy huts and sun terraces are available for breaks and especially for enjoying the magnificent panorama view.

Night skiing Bad Goisern

In the Dachstein West ski area, skiing fun does not end in the evening. In the small night ski area at Ötscherlift, night is turned into day. During the extended operation hours from 18:30 - 20:30 the lower section of the valley run is illuminated. The night ski piste marked red offers an approx. 1 km illuminated slope for everyone. The local night skiing offer also includes the Brumsipiste slope for beginners and children which nearby the Hornspitzbahn lift's valley station. When you want to take a break from your night-time skiing, the Hornspitz umbrella bar is a good spot. Below Hornspit Express there also is a racing track as well as the Ötscher Kids Park with steep curves and a wavy track.

Après ski Bad Goisern

After a strenuous day on the pistes or a good long walk in the surrounding area, numerous quaint huts and restaurants invite you in to spoil you with traditional regional fare. If you'd like to experience some local history, then you should pay a visit to the neighbouring resort of Bad Ischl. It was here that the Austrian Kaiser Franz Joseph I. had his annual summer holiday in the 19th Century and also where he proposed to his future wife, Empress Sisi. Equally worthwhile is a walk through the neighbouring village of Hallstatt in the south of Bad Goisern and around Lake Hallstatt. In 1997 this wonderful resort was declared a World Heritage Site. Unique architecture combined with unforgettable nature makes for an experience that definitely shouldn't be missed. For those who enjoy partying late into the night are in the right place at suitably called disco "en-joy".

Snowpark: Snowpark Dachstein West Bad Goisern

The ski region Dachstein West offers a total of 4 different fun parks, making sure every freestyler will get their money's worth! In Gosau, you can start the fun in the "Playground Snowpark Gosau" which is located right next to the valley station. With its own lift, the park offers freestylers plenty of opportunity to explore the different runs and obstacles in the park.

All those looking for the ultimate kick should check out the "Snowpark Dachstein West"! Obstacles such as butter box (3 - 6m), jib (2m) and jumps (1 - 4m) will lift you up and cater for the perfect adrenaline rush. Beginner's will also find a way to try out their skills. Professional shapers guarantee you first-class shredding sessions. A free Wi-Fi hotspot keeps you up to date, and you can share your newest achievements right away.

The "Rookie Park Russbach" and the "Youngsters Freestyle Park Annaberg" are of course also worth a visit. The parks are especially suitable for beginners.
